July 21 at 7 pm, the Worthington Library is honored to present award-winning author, Martha Ackmann, who will speak about her book, The Mercury 13: The True Story of Thirteen Women and the Dream of Space Flight. Dr Ackmann is a member of the Gender Studies Department at Mount Holyoke College who writes about women who have changed America. She is a frequent contributor to many of the nation's newspapers and is a commentator for National Public Radio. A much sought-after speaker, she uses the story of the Mercury 13 as an inspiring study of women's determination and hope. This program is free to the public and is a part of this summer's reading program, Starship Adventure at Your Library.

Summer Reading Begins July 16
The Summer Program begins July 16 with Ron Woodland's Making Rockets. Children should sign up at the library and register for great prizes, including Big E tickets and a ticket to see the Lipizzaner Stallions. Once again, we will be offering the "35 for 5" program, with .35 coupons to Corners Grocery. Children's programs will be held on Thursday mornings from 10:30 to 11:30. All are welcome.

It's time to sign up for our Summer Reading Program. This year you can sign up on line - see the link on the right hand side of this page. You can manage your hours or number of books you have read and even write reviews for others to read! If you travel, you can sign in from anywhere in the world.
